For many people and groups, financial and physical support is the easiest way to get involved. (Click here to go to our e-giving page right now) Your monetary gifts can help us show the love of God to men and women facing unbelievable struggles. At Mission:USA, every dollar makes a difference, and we are so thankful for your partnership with this ministry! In addition to financial contributions, we also accept physical donations that can aid us in our ministry (everything from donuts to minivans). Our Bridge Host Team Program provides an ideal way to participate in and contribute to The Bridge! The program is a one-night cross cultural missions experience for Christians of all levels of maturity, in which they serve in key roles at The Bridge. Teams - ranging from 6-10 people, and drawing from a church, Sunday School, small group, etc. - work together to greet and fellowship with the attendees, help with childcare, and provide a meal for after the service.
This is a great "entry-level" service opportunity for people with a burden for inner-city ministry, but little or no experience. We provide orientation and training to help all of our first timers feel at ease. Being a Host Team is a one-night commitment, although many of our teams enjoy it so much that they serve on a regular basis.
Most host teams report this experience as being very much like a missions trip, only at a fraction of the cost (of airfare, lodging, etc.). We hear exactly the same thing each week, "Don't thank us for helping; we got more out of this than we gave!” That fun and excitement is what The Bridge is all about. (Please note that Host Team opportunities are available to groups from all over the United States. Although many of our Host Teams come from the greater Chicagoland area, we regularly include teams hailing from Minnesota to Indiana to Tennessee!)
